In 1972, Scooters India Limited bought over the plant and machinery, design, documentation, copyright from Innocenti of Italy which produces the Lambretta. The company possesses the world right of the trade name LAMBRETTA / LAMBRO.
The scooter was produced from 1975 to 1997. The company now focused on producing 3-wheelers.
