SYM Motors is a Taiwan company founded in Taipei in 1954. The company’s manufactures and sells scooters, motorcycles and ATVs under the SYM brand. The official company name is Sanyang Industry Co. Ltd .
SYM has 3 major production bases – in Taiwan, China and Vietnam. Its subsidiary in Xiamen China, is Xia Mein Xiashing Motorcycle Co., Ltd. and the Vietnam subsidiary in Hoa Dong Nai is Vietnam Manufacturing & Export Processing Co., Ltd. (VMEP).
In January 2006, SYM purchase of 11% of Kinetic motor company of India. SYM plans to start producing and selling 50-250cc capacity SYM brand scooters in India through the widely established Kinetic sales, distribution, and service network.
