Motorcycle Manufacturers: Hero Honda

Hero Honda Motorcycles Limited is an Indian manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters.

Hero Honda is a joint venture that began in 1984 between the Hero Cycles of India and Honda Motor Company of Japan. This alliance is to become one of the most successful joint ventures in India, and the subject of business school case studies .

Since 2001, Hero Honda has been the world’s biggest manufacturer of 2-wheeled motorized vehicles, producing over 3 million motorbikes a year.

The Hero group was started by the Munjal family to produce bicycle. Hero Cycles Limited is now also the largest manufacturer of bicycles.

CFMoto’s new logo

One of my old post on CFMoto’s logo attracted some attention. Today 2 Stoke Buzz pointed to the logo as “solid clue towards the amount of careful thought that went into the machine“.

I can’t say much about their motorcycle since I had not ride them. But if you know the standard of quality in China, the comment is certainly not too far off.

On the other hand, we want to give credit to some companies are proactive in catching up with the quality chasm. Maybe CFMOTO is one of them. The change of logo is an indication of that determination.

(Note: I do not know, own or have any relationship with CFMoto except as a casual observer.)

In 1972, Scooters India Limited bought over the plant and machinery, design, documentation, copyright from Innocenti of Italy which produces the Lambretta. The company possesses the world right of the trade name LAMBRETTA / LAMBRO.

The scooter was produced from 1975 to 1997. The company now focused on producing 3-wheelers.

GS MotorWorks is founded in 2000 in the US as an American scooter and ATV company.

GS MotorWorks scooters can be separated in two big categories: Sport scooters (Sport, Riptide, Alien, Euro and Wasp) and Retro scooters (Retro, Vespa 1961 and Sinclair).

It looks this these guy subcontract the manufacturering or import the scooters from China and selling under their label.
